A resident start-up company at Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT), Yakhte Fanavar Co., has managed to localize production of “Liquid Base Cytology” kits. These kits are used to identify the human papillomavirus (HPV) commonly associated with cancer.
The kits are specifically used in the screening for cervical cancer, the second most common cancer in women, although the absolute cause of cervical cancer has not yet been discovered. Yearly check-ups and pap smears reduce the risk and development of this cancer in women.
Yakhte Fanavar Co. has managed to domesticize the production of these kits to Iran, making them less expensive and more available for use.
This company has been a resident at ISTT since 2015 and has since worked on the manufacturing of laboratory kits, Cell culture mediums, pharmaceuticals and biotechnologies.
